Wrinkles
This is a quick and simple trick to create "wrinkles".
Usually applied when doing costuming. |
| |
Pick the area you want to apply this trick with. In this example,
let's start around the armpit area. See Caption
01, naturally there should be wrinkles on the circled area
when someone pose that way.

This "illusion" requires two things, the
brighter part and the
shadow. Sort of "yin"
and "yang". Make selection shown on Caption
02 and start painting with brighter tone.

| |
Reverse the selection and
paint the shadow as the counterpart (Caption
03).

Now it's done! Just as simple as that (Caption

Notes:
Always pay attention to where the lighting direction
(main source of lighting) comes from.
In this example, the direction is from top-left (our
view), so normally the shadow would occurs to the wrinkle like shown
on Caption 05.

You can apply the same principle when creating effects such as seams
on the gloves, costumes, etc.
